Chocolate Trifle!

Summer cookout season is upon us.  My friends and I all have kids so we usually do our get togethers pot luck style to help out the hostess.  Now- I know the rule of thumb is to always take a big salad to a cookout so that you can stay on track with eating healthy, but we can't forget about the dessert!  I always get asked to bring my Chocolate Trifle when talks of who's bringing what for dessert comes up.  It's a great summer dessert because it's served cold and let's face it- cool whip is totally yummy in the summer!

CHOCOLATE BROWNIE- HEATH BAR TRIFLE

Ingredients:
1 box of your favorite brownie mix
2 boxes chocolate mousse mix
1 large tub of cool whip (light is fine)
1 bag of Heath bar crumbles

Directions:

* Prepare brownies and mousse according to box directions.  (An 8x8 pan of brownies is fine.  But if 8x8 is fine, then 9x13 is even better!)

*In a trifle bowl or a large glass bowl, layer:
     one layer of crumbled up brownies
     one layer of mousse
     one layer of cool whip
     one layer of Heath brickle

*Repeat layers a second time.

*Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.  Can be made the night before.

ENJOY!

**  If your grocery doesn't carry mousse mix, you can use chocolate pudding.  It tastes great- but not quite as light and fluffy as mousse.

**Bag of Heath bar bits can be found next to the chocolate chips in the baking aisle.
